The Light
The light was dim at first
just a flicker in the heartAnd so, on a sunny day,
the path was dark
and we wandered around aimlesslyThen, before us, an exquisite flash
and we were shown
how all things might shine
when allowed
when seen as possibleSee how your heart-spark-light
stoked by love
will burn brightAnd the path, too, will shine.
Poetry of Moments
When news of Trump
or raucous stories
of party politics
fighting like cats and dogs
make the moment
feel oppressive
take a breath
turn to nature
listen for music
of birds or people
look to artSee this…
you are the light
when you breathe in love
Angel of Healing and Protection De La Rose
Rain draws life
From the soilPain draws character
From the soulLet love deliver healing
Life changes rain
Into divine expressionLife changes pain
Into a new lessonLet love deliver healing
Don’t let the pain
Become who you are
Rusty
So much rain
and time away
from the art
and the words
has me feeling
just a little bit
rusty

Light Bursts
Disrupting an otherwise realistic photograph is one of my favorite things to do these days. Creating and implementing a light burst in a photo adds a expressive dynamism.
Spirals
With these spirals,
I aspire to take you higher;
I spin to make you grin;
I blur to make you purr;
Reality, spun into a new meaning. Enjoy.
Architectural
My only formal photography training came at the UC Berkeley Architecture department. To this day my eye is pulled toward the way light and shadow dance on the face of a human-designed structure.
Flora – Flowers and Plants
I love to get close-up and personal with flowers, leaves, trunks and stems. Much of the plant kingdom has spent millions of years perfecting the art of reflecting light in brilliant and inspiring ways.
Abstract
Maybe we should call this the “Smoke and Mirrors” collection. These images are made using mostly in-camera effects and techniques.
